Chelsea’s Hakimi bid matched, Lazio show interest in Kepa and defender targeted

After winning the Champions League, Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea are looking to get even better and challenge for domestic glory.

The Stamford Bridge club were competitive against the top sides last season and they have an elite coach in Tuchel, giving them the belief they can challenge on all fronts next season.

They spent over £230m last summer on players like Timo Werner, Kai Havertz and Ben Chilwell and could open their chequebooks again this year to build on that.

The Blues are keen on brining another forward, while Achraf Hakimi’s name has been strongly linked recently.

Achraf Hakimi bid matched

Chelsea are closing in on the transfer of Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi, who is currently at Serie A champions Inter.

The Italian club are looking to sell to aid their financial issues, and Chelsea have matched Paris Saint-Germain’s £56.1m transfer offer in the hope of bringing him to Stamford Bridge.

The 22-year-old had joined Inter last year from Real Madrid, having spent the previous two seasons on loan at Borussia Dortmund.

Kepa could reunite with Sarri

Former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is interested in bringing Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga to Lazio.

Sarri joined Lazio yesterday after spending a year out of management and wants the Spaniard to be his No. 1, according to reports, despite a disaster spell in London.

Kepa fell behind Edouard Mendy in the Chelsea pecking order, and the Senegalese goalkeeper looks set to cement his place as the club’s first-choice next season.

Sarri was the one who brought Kepa to Chelsea back in 2021 and is hoping to reunite with him in Italy.
