For those reasons, Chelsea should be keeping the 21-year-old on their radar too. Especially with the possible departures of Olivier Giroud and Tammy Abraham.

Isak netted 17 times in 34 La Liga appearances. He is quick, agile and excellent on the ball and would be well suited to Tuchel’s style of play.

If the Blues can’t secure Erling Haaland’s signature this summer, Isak could be a smart alternative purchase.

The 18-year-old centre-back has enjoyed a remarkable breakthrough campaign for both club and country this season and has firmly established himself as first choice for the Ukrainian national team who are expected to do well at Euro 2020.

A composed and solid defender who reads the game astutely Chelsea have been linked with the centre-back and a strong performance at this summer’s tournament could only reaffirm their interest.
