Arsenal linked to De Paul

Arsenal targets this summer are heavily focused on the midfield area of the pitch.

With Martin Odegaard and Dani Ceballos returning to Real Madrid, Granit Xhaka looking likely to leave for Roma and a lack of significant strength in depth beyond Thomas Partey, Emile Smith-Rowe and Joe Willock, much needs to be done.

One of the players linked has been Udinese’s Rodrigo De Paul.

De Paul fits the profile of a player that Arteta would like perfectly. An attack minded technical player with ability to play as an 8, which has done predominantly this season, but also the capacity to play further forward as a 10.

De Paul wants to leave

Clubs, seemingly such as Arsenal, have been given a boost in their pursuit of the Argentine.

Reported by Di Marzio journalist Matteo Moretto, De Paul has spoken about the want to move on from the Italian side this summer.

‘Rodrigo De Paul will leave Udinese: “I was honest with whom I had to be clear. I told them what I think and what I want, now I am 27 years old .”‘

Going onto say however that Atletico Madrid are the most keen on a move for the former Valencia man.

‘It is the first goal of Atlético’

A move is likely to be very expensive. Udinese have already rejected one offer from Atletico Madrid.
