RB Salzburg’s Patson Daka ‘very keen’ on Liverpool switch

An insight into the transfer hopes of Premier League-linked Patson Daka has been forthcoming in the British media on Tuesday.

Daka linked with Premier League sides

Patson Daka joined Austrian outfit RB Salzburg in 2017, departing Zambian side Kafue Celtic FC.

Daka has since proven a solid player for Salzburg, but recent years had of course seen the spotlight largely hogged by Erling Haaland.

However, since Haaland’s departure for Borussia Dortmund, Daka has done a fine job of filling the Norwegian’s boots.

In 28 league outings last season, for example, the Zambian international scored 27 goals, as well as providing seven assists.

Daka also racked up an impressive 27 goals and 12 assists in 45 outings across all competitions during the 2019/20 season.

Such fine form, in turn, has inevitably seen Daka linked with a number of top clubs over the last year or so including, Arsenal, Liverpool and West Ham.

Patson Daka eyeing Liverpool switch

Now though it seems if Daka gets his way, it would be Liverpool who he joins in the future.

According to a report from Football Insider on Tuesday:

Red Bull Salzburg striker Patson Daka is “very keen” to join Liverpool this summer, Football Insider has learned.

They go on to explain that Liverpool have made contact with the Austrian outfit to find out what it would take to sign Daka.

And, if the report from FI proves true, then any potential suitors for Daka would not have to pay too much to land him:

The source explained that it is likely to cost around £17million to land Daka, who has three years left on his contract.
