Barcelona is knee-deep in what can only be described as a summer of fun at current, with the Catalan giants facing difficult decisions as they tackle some hard questions on and off the pitch.

The club is in difficult financial constraints and the need to shift a large number of players off the books if they are to continue to retool under Dutch headmaster Ronald Koeman remains a priority.

Barcelona continue to keep Antoine Griezmann in the shop window

Despite his status as one of the most recognized faces in European football, Antoine Griezmann is hardly viewed as a necessary part of Barcelona’s future in the wake of the club’s need to fix its financial situation in rapid order.

As reported by Sports Illustrated, the French international and former Atlético Madrid and Real Sociedad standout has been offered by the Catalan giants to a handful of big clubs across Europe, including Premier League outfits Manchester City and Tottenham.

However, according to Get French Football, Griezmann will only consider a return to La Liga rivals Atléti if he does end up heading for the exit door at the Camp Nou. It remains unclear if Barca will be able to shift the player given his wages and his desire to not leave Spain, which could prove a major stumbling block in their summer plans.

Nine players up for sale as financial needs grow
